# 115 Holiday snapshots

This series of posts is near the end and I've not yet talked about the food.

Every Summer when we go back home for our holidays we all make a mental list of the things we want to eat and which we've been missing all year long.

As strange as it may sound to some of you, top on our list is fresh fish. The Portuguese are the greatest consumers of fresh fish together with the Japanese (fact extracted from the EasyJet inflight magazine). Yes, it smells and yes the house will stink but it tastes so, so good!

When on holiday I really don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen so the food has to be simple but delicious.

Beautiful non uniform tomatoes in different degress of ripeness...

...turned into a lovely salad.

Diced turkey meat on skewers with onions and pepers.

Salty cod before being drained ready for cooking.

Sea bream.

Mackarel.

Sardines.
